GHD Foundation has committed to empowering three schools across Australia with the implementation of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) education initiatives by partnering with Australian Schools Plus, a national not-for-profit that helps children with limited resources succeed in school.
The GHD Foundation-funded initiatives will be school-led and designed to meet the specific needs of the students and teachers, bringing a targeted approach to STEAM learning, based on the school’s context and unique challenges. As a part of ensuring program success, Schools Plus provides school leaders with expert coaching to help in the design, implementation and evaluation of the initiatives and connects schools with others across Australia undertaking similar work, to share learnings and resources.

GHD Foundation and Australian Schools Plus both have a goal of closing the gap with clear focus on:
- Increased awareness of and aspirations to pursue further STEAM education and careers
- Improved access to up-to-date technology and resources
- Improved academic achievement in science and maths
- Increased number of students undertaking STEAM subjects in senior secondary
- Increased teacher capacity in delivery STEAM skills to students, through professional development
