GHD Foundation launches first UK scholarship in partnership with the University of Salford

October 3, 2024

GHD Foundation has announced its first UK scholarship in partnership with the University of Salford located in Manchester. This initiative builds on the established relationship between the university and GHD’s Manchester office, fostering increased collaboration between the organisations.

The £10,000 three-year scholarship awarded to Azan Rabbi, not only provides essential financial aid to enhance prospects for success but also supports cultural diversity. Currently, cultural minorities account for only 8 percent of UK Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) professionals.

GHD Foundation has a focus on outcome-driven STEAM education programs that prioritises both equal opportunities and social mobility. As Azan is studying Architectural Engineering this represents a great example of supporting inclusive and diverse STEAM professions of the future.

The scholarship initiative stands as a testament to the GHD Foundation's commitment to investing in the future workforce, fostering diversity, and building resilient communities both in the UK and globally.
