University of Guelph presents the GHD Foundation inaugural Women in Engineering Bursary to deserving student
GHD Foundation is proud to offer a bursary through the University of Guelph to support women in engineering.
The Foundation is committed to championing equal opportunities and social mobility through STEAM education initiatives that bridge educational gaps, inspire innovation, and empower individuals to become catalysts for positive change in their communities and beyond. Scholarships and bursaries like this one are able to provide financial support, among other benefits to enable and advance education, training, mentoring and employment opportunities.
Through its Women in Engineering initiative, the University of Guelph has had an active interest in increasing the awareness of STEM among thousands of women, as well as supporting the inclusion and retention of women in STEM through student-focused programs.
This year’s bursary recipient was Zeena Abdelbasit, who has benefited greatly from this award. ‘This award has made a significant impact on my life, and I cannot thank you enough for your generous support and recognition of my hard work. As a woman in engineering, I face systematic challenges in pursuing my educational and career goals. However, this award has given me hope and encouragement and has shown me that there are organizations that value and support diversity in STEM fields.’
We are eager to continue partnering with the University of Guelph in supporting women in engineering.
